A headcover that doesn't fit properly won't protect your club the way it should — and if you're buying it as a gift, getting the size wrong is an easy mistake to avoid once you know what to look for.
Match the headcover to the club, not just the brand
Golf headcovers are generally sized by club type rather than brand or model, which makes shopping simpler than it looks:
- Driver: Sized to fit up to a 460cc driver head, the current standard for most modern drivers.
- Mini driver: A slightly smaller fit for mini/mid-size driver heads.
- Fairway woods: Fits 3, 5, 7, and 9 wood heads — one size typically covers this whole range.
- Hybrid: A smaller, more tailored fit for hybrid club heads.
Buying a set? Here's how to think about it
If you're covering a full bag, most golfers land on 3 to 4 headcovers: driver, one fairway wood, and a hybrid or two. Our headcovers are available individually or as personalized sets, which is usually the better value if you're covering more than two clubs.
Don't forget alignment sticks
Alignment sticks are easy to overlook but just as prone to damage in a crowded bag. Our genuine leather alignment stick covers are sized to fit two sticks per cover and are designed as a companion piece to our genuine leather headcovers — handcrafted from the same full-grain leather, so a matching set looks intentional rather than mismatched.
A quick sizing checklist
- Know your driver's head size (check the sole of the club or the manufacturer's spec sheet if unsure — 460cc is standard for most modern drivers).
- Count how many fairway woods and hybrids you want covered.
- Decide if you're personalizing — sets often work out better value than buying pieces individually.
- Consider whether alignment sticks need protecting too.
Shop our genuine leather headcovers or pair them with matching alignment stick covers for a complete, coordinated set.
